Conveyor belt tracks off to one side within an hour of alignment

A belt always walks toward the side it contacts first. Repeating in the same direction means something is not square and alignment is treating the symptom. Check the tail pulley squareness and the idler rollers before touching the tracking adjusters again — a roller a few millimetres out of perpendicular will defeat any amount of tracking. Clean the pulley lagging too; a build-up on one side has the same effect as a misalignment.
